New England Medical Association

Enriching the New England Health Care Community

The New England Medical Association (NEMA) is a Boston-based organization designed to build a community of black physicians and physicians in training, who are practicing in the New England area. NEMA is dedicated to creating a community that will provide career development opportunities, a robust mentoring program, service through community-based projects, and advocacy to eliminate disparities. Our mission is to help members achieve their career goals for promotion and retention of black physicians, increase diversity in healthcare, healthcare leadership, and participate in pipeline programs to ultimately improve health care delivery.

To serve as a collective voice for Black physicians in the New England area and to promote the interest of our members. To be advocates for health equity and justice in medicine with a focus on eliminating disparities across the entire health care system.

To Provide professional education, science and scholarly exchange, the advancement of health policies, medical education and member recognition align in order to align with the pillars of the National Medical Association.

To equip members with the tools needed to succeed in areas of research, technology, advocacy and public health through a support network.
