Strategic Plan Summary

Driving Meaningful Change in Health Care

Dear Friends

I am excited to share this Executive Summary of the New England Medical Association’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan.

The process of developing this first formal strategic plan galvanized our Board of Directors. Engaged our members and supporters, and informed man individual and organizations about the important work of the New England Medical Association. The past two years of COVID have laid bare the often hidden and unpublicized health inequities and disparities facing Black Americans in Boston and across the nation. Eliminating these barriers will require bold and sustained efforts. This Strategic Plan will enable NEMA to meet its mission of advocating for a just and equitable heath care system focused on eliminating health disparities. The last two years and our own planning process have taught us that NEMA is needed now more than ever. The strategic directions and initiatives described in the Executive Summary represents the collaborative efforts of many individuals and organizations. We are grateful for your generosity of time, ideas and recommendations. We are excited about the future of the New England Medical Association and invite you to engage with us as we work to eliminate health disparities and inequities in New England and beyond.

Sincerely,

Ellana Stinson, MD, President New England Medical Association
