Job Summary:
New England Medical Association is seeking a talented and experienced Communications Specialist to
help promote our mission and values to a wider audience. The Communications Specialist will be
responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that engage our target audiences,
including donors, volunteers, partners, and the public at large.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans and strategies that promote the organization’s mission, goals, and activities.
- Write, edit, and distribute a variety of communications materials, including press releases, social media content, newsletters, annual reports, and other marketing collateral.
- Manage and maintain the organization’s website and social media presence, including creating and publishing engaging content, monitoring analytics, and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and deliver targeted messaging and campaigns that support fundraising, events, and other initiatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers to increase the organization’s visibility and reach.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage of the organization and provide regular reports to internal stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the organization’s brand and ensure that all communications materials are consistent with brand guidelines.
- Assist with event planning and execution, including developing messaging, coordinating media outreach, and providing on-site support.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and make recommendations for improving the organization’s communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write and edit content for a variety of channels and audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, content management systems, and email marketing tools.
- Familiarity with media relations and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with key contacts.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative communication strategies and solutions.
