Community Health Institute 2023

Please join us for the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers’ annual Community Health Institute (CHI) on May 10-12 at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel in North Falmouth, MA. The annual conference, which attracts hundreds of attendees and exhibitors, provides leadership development, best practices, and educational sessions on emerging trends and challenges for executive, clinical, administrative, operational, and management staff at the state’s community health centers.

This year’s CHI, Reimagining Care: Framing the Future of Community Health, will focus on health center innovation from workforce programs, to clinical and operational approaches, to ensuring equity — both within our organizations and in the provision of care to our under-resourced patients and communities. As always, the conference will feature updates from state and national officials and Mass League staff on health policy issues impacting health centers and their patients.

Two NEMA Leadership members are presenters: 10th Dr. Vonzella Bryant – Improving the Healthcare System through Diversity in the Field of Medicine; Dr. Karen Abdool – Population Trauma & Chronic Illness: A Medical Framework.

In addition, this year’s conference will feature a special pre-session on Tuesday, May 9 dedicated to exploring community-based research. Reimagining Research: Building Partnerships that Center Community Health, is a one-day workshop that will consider how health centers might reimagine their participation in research. Sessions will explore the benefits to health centers, communities, and patients of research participation and the pitfalls to avoid; the variety of research opportunities and methodologies health centers may wish to engage in; and the frameworks and tools to prepare for research participation and partnership vetting.
